There will be a family connection on The Mountain this weekend when Pete Evick and his son, Gavin Evick, take the stage with two different acts at The Mountain Music Festival in Gatlinburg.

Pete Evick, longtime guitarist and musical director for Bret Michaels, will take the stage as part of Michaels’ band, while the next generation gets its own turn when Gavin Evick fronts the Gavin Evick Band.

For a festival built around generations of rock music, having father and son on the same weekend bill makes for a fitting moment — one playing alongside an established rock icon and the other building a path of his own.

Barrelassin’ caught up with Pete during the festival in Gatlinburg in 2022. This year, we’ll be watching for both Evicks on The Mountain.
