The countdown is on for one of music’s biggest nights.
The 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is set for Saturday, November 14, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, bringing together a class that stretches across rock, pop, metal, R&B and hip-hop.
This year’s Performer Category includes Phil Collins, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Sade, Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan.
For rock fans, the class includes several names that have been part of the soundtrack for generations — from the unmistakable sneer and peroxide spikes of Billy Idol to the heavy-metal legacy of Iron Maiden and the hit-filled solo career of Phil Collins.
Billy Idol emerged from the late-1970s London punk scene as frontman for Generation X before launching the solo career that turned songs including “White Wedding,” “Rebel Yell” and “Eyes Without a Face” into MTV-era staples.
Iron Maiden joins the 2026 class after more than four decades at the forefront of heavy metal, while Phil Collins will enter the Hall as a solo performer after previously being inducted as a member of Genesis.
The class also brings together the intertwined histories of Joy Division and New Order, recognized jointly in the Performer Category. Following the death of Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis in 1980, the remaining members formed New Order with Gillian Gilbert, ultimately creating a body of work that helped shape both alternative rock and electronic dance music.
Oasis, Sade, Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan round out the Performer Category, giving the 2026 class a reach that extends well beyond any single definition of rock and roll.
Beyond the Performer Category
Five artists will receive the Early Influence Award: Celia Cruz, Fela Kuti, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte and Gram Parsons.
The Musical Excellence Award will go to Linda Creed, Arif Mardin, Jimmy Miller and Rick Rubin, while legendary television host Ed Sullivan will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award.
The complete Class of 2026 encompasses artists, producers, songwriters and cultural figures whose work spans generations and genres — from heavy metal and punk to soul, hip-hop, Latin music and beyond.
The Ceremony
The 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be taped Saturday, November 14, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
The ceremony is scheduled to make its television and streaming debut on ABC and Disney+ in December. The Rock Hall has also announced that the Induction Ceremony will return to Cleveland in 2027.
With Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, Phil Collins, Oasis and a class spanning multiple generations of music, the 2026 ceremony will bring together one of the Rock Hall’s most varied groups of honorees.
