Bret Michaels is headed to Gatlinburg this weekend, bringing decades of rock anthems to The Mountain Music Festival on Saturday night. The festival lists Michaels among Saturday’s featured performers for August 22.

From his years fronting Poison to a solo career that has kept him on the road, Michaels has built a live show around the songs that helped define an era — including “Every Rose Has Its Thorn,” “Talk Dirty to Me” and “Nothin’ But a Good Time.”

Michaels’ Gatlinburg appearance also comes on the heels of an unexpected break from the road. In July, he underwent surgery for a complicated obstructing kidney stone and was ordered by doctors to take three to four weeks off from performing while he recovered. At the time, Michaels said he hoped to be back on the road by late August.

Known for high-energy performances and a catalog made for a crowd to sing along with, Michaels is now set to bring that show to Gatlinburg.
