Some entrances just deserve their own soundtrack. As Charlie Sheen made his way into the show, fans could be heard calling out “Wild Thing” — the nickname that has followed his Major League character for decades. It made the soundtrack choice for this clip an easy one.

Sheen’s appearance came just weeks after the release of The Book of Sheen: A Memoir, his first memoir and a look back at a career—and a life—that has rarely stayed out of the headlines. From Platoon, Wall Street and Major League to Two and a Half Men, Sheen revisits the career highs as well as the highly publicized personal lows, this time in his own words.

At the Music City show, Sheen met with fans, posed for photos and signed copies of the new memoir. When the actual signing of this copy escaped the camera, he was game for a quick take two.

For all the headlines that have followed Sheen over the years, the version fans met in Franklin was relaxed, talkative and remarkably accommodating. He took his time with people, joked between photos and seemed genuinely engaged with the fans who came to see him.

Sheen remained at his table meeting fans for an extended stretch of the day, never seeming particularly rushed to move people through. From our vantage point, the interaction felt less like a quick celebrity photo line and more like someone who genuinely enjoyed meeting the people who had come to see him.
